I apologize if I have already posted about this to some extent, but I feel like talking about this. One of the things I always look forwards to at the end of each day is returning home, and being greeted by my cats, and my mother, if she is home. The second I open my front door, Tabby will get up from his pillow and greet me excitedly. And Spot, if he doesn't greet me with Tabby, is usually resting in the laundry room. So as I go to hang up my coat and hat, I stop by the place he is napping, and once I get within a few feet of him, whether he is awake or asleep, he will stat purring blissfully. He does that whenever I am near him. And when he shows that enjoyment of my presence, it really makes me smile with glee. How could it not? The fact that Spot, let alone any creature that values territory as much as a cat, can find bliss and happiness from my merely being near him. It shows that Spot looks at me as family. And it shows that he puts family above. And seeing that cute, innocent cat, that doesn't understand anything I do or say, purr blissfully at my presence, and follow me around on short adventures, just really makes me happy. Man, I think I said the same sentence 10 times in different ways. Oh well.
